2024 Sioux Falls City Chess Championship

Dates: April 27-28
Event Site:  HyVee Grocery Store--3000 S Minnesota Ave., Sioux Falls, SD
Requirements:  Membership in both the United States Chess Federation and South Dakota State Chess Association (membership signups available at site)
Registration and Entry Fees: Registration available by emailing to (sdchess1@hotmail.com) and at the site.  Fees--$35 if email is sent prior to 4/13/24, $40 if email is sent from 4/14-4/26 and $45 at the site on 4/27

Time Controls: First round—game in 90 minutes/5 sec delay.  Rounds 2-5--30 moves in 90 minutes + game 30 /5 sec delay.
Byes:  Two byes can be granted if requested at least one day prior to the day of the match.
Prizes:  Prizes: 1st-$100, 2nd-$50, 3rd-$25, 1st Scholastic-$50, U2000-$50, U1800-$50, U1600-$50, Unrated-$50 (Prize money assumes 50 tournament players).  Trophies will be given to overall winner and top Scholastic player as well as to top scoring individuals that are also Sioux Falls residents.  Along with trophies those two individuals will also be respectively bestowed with the titles of “Sioux Falls City Champion” and “Sioux Falls Scholastic City Champion”.

Equipment: Please bring chess sets and clocks.
