Event Site: Hy-Vee Grocery Store Club Room – 3000 S Minnesota Ave., Sioux Falls, SD
Sections: Two sections, U1200 and Open. Players with ratings U1200, along with Unrated players, may register for either the U1200 or Open section.
Requirements: Current memberships in both the United States Chess Federation and the SDCA (USCF membership registrations available online or at the site. SDCA membership at the site).

https://caissachess.net/online-registration/index/8211 or starting at 7:30 AM, at the tournament site. Fees–$40 if completed online on or before 3/1, $45 if completed online between 3/2 and 3/20, $50 if done at the tournament site on 3/21.

Byes: A maximum of two byes (1/2 point each) will be granted if requested at least one day prior to the day(s) of the match(s).
Prizes: 1st-$100, 2nd-$50, 3rd-$25, 1st Scholastic-$50, U2000-$50, U1800-$50, U1600-$50, U1400-$50, U1200-$50 and Unrated-$25 (Prize money assumes 42 tournament players). Trophies will be given to the top three Open finishers, the top Scholastic player, as well as to both the top scoring Open and Scholastic individuals that are also Sioux Falls residents. Along with trophies, those two top scoring Sioux Falls residents will also be respectively bestowed with the titles of “Sioux Falls City Champion” and “Sioux Falls Scholastic City Champion”. Trophies will also be given to the highest scoring individual in each bracket. In case of ties, the trophy winners will be determined by standard USCF tie-break methods, as calculated in CaissaChess software. The methods, in order of precedent, will be Modified Median, Solkoff, Cumulative, and Opposition’s Cumulative. Prize money will be divided equally among the tied winners.
Additional Rules and Notes: Cellular phones and electronic devices are prohibited from use during the chess match. Please turn off all cellular phones and place in the center of the table (face-down) during tournament play. Other USCF rules will be followed during the tournament.
Equipment: Please bring chess sets and clocks.
